Container Cod-Ends
![]() | Such cod-ends allow for significant quality improvement of fish production. This is attained by transferring loads not to the netting of the cod-end, but rather to 4 supplementary belly lines, by using which the catch is lifted by the jaws over the trawl tramp to the deck with the help of two gilsons at a time. When during fish removal to the deck over the trawl tramp the load is distributed over the netting, fish is exposed to compression force, which results in fish crushing and bleeding. When the load is transferred to belly lines, compression force is significantly less, and no bleeding occurs. |
