Design engineering of multi-panel trawls а.с. 1122286 is based on the principle of stress concentration reduction through increasing flatness of combined net cutting and disposition of supplementary belly lines in base load places.

Multiple panels make it possible to increase trawl parameter in working order, to reach more uniform opening of the netting, a stable position of a trawl in a stream, increased service life, and reduction in failure rate.

Sirius multi-panel trawls and their advanced Sirius М versions were developed on the basis of previously used 118/620 m trawl. Trawls of this type are designed for carrying out bottom pelagic and surface fishery in all regions of the World Ocean.

Trawls are made of cutting-edge materials. Dyneema, Euroneema, and Super-12 ropes. Super-12 has a high tensile strength and increased wear resistance, is used in four colors, which allows marking different trawl panels, diameters of ropes and simplifying trawl repair and equipping.

Net parts are made of Nylon and Magneta. Use of these materials allows to increase the fishing area significantly whilst maintaining and even increasing the trawling speed as compared to currently used trawls. A large mouth area and long trawl wings ensure higher catch efficiency.

In the course of using Sirius trawls made of the most advanced materials, catches of the Baltic Atlant Shipping company increased by 20-25 %, whereas in dispersed fish concentrations this difference amounted to 40-50% and higher as compared with a previously used 113/480 m trawl.

Upon availability of a highly qualified navigating team the service life of Sirius trawls is two-three times longer as opposed to Polyethylene, Capron, and Danline trawls and amounts to approximately 1.5-2 years.

Trawls are designed for use on the following vessels:

• RTMA 2320/1706 (Atlantic Refrigerator Fishing Trawler) – Sirius 0, 1.
• RTMS of “Prometey” 3880/2854 type (Super Refrigerator Fishing Trawler) – Sirius 1.
• BATM of “Pulkovsky Meridian” type (Large Refrigerator Single Trawler) – Sirius 2, 3.
• RTMKS of “Moonsund” 7000/5152 type (Large Refrigerator Single Trawler) – Sirius 3, 4, 5.
• BATSP 7200/5296 (Large Super-Atlantic Polish Refrigerator Single Trawler) – Sirius 2, 3, 4, 5.

El Cazador and Thyboron trawl doors 8.5 m², 9.5 m² and 10 m² in area respectively are used together with trawls.
